Protective Factors Approaches to Prevention

This issue brief provides an overview of protective factors approaches to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. It is intended to support child welfare professionals, administrators, service providers, policymakers, and other partners (for example, community-based organizations and other child- and family-serving agencies) in understanding how strengthening protective factors can reduce the likelihood of child maltreatment.
