Accessibility

Child Welfare Information Gateway is committed to making its websites accessible to the widest possible audience and accommodating people with disabilities.

To meet this commitment, we comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Section 508 requires that people with disabilities have access to information comparable to the access available to others.

Section 508/Accessibility

In 1998, Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act requiring Federal agencies to make electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Inaccessible technology interferes with an individual′s ability to obtain and use information quickly and easily. Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in information technology, to make available new opportunities for people with disabilities, and to encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. The law applies to all Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology.

If you are using assistive technologies and would like to report an accessibility problem with a Child Welfare Information Gateway website, please email ACF.Tech.Section508@acf.hhs.gov. Please specify the web page or file you are having problems within your email.
