The Department of the Family shall establish a central registry as a component of the Commonwealth Center for the Protection of Minors.

Purpose

The register shall consist of an integrated information system of all incidents of abuse, institutional abuse, neglect, and institutional neglect. This register shall be organized to allow identification of previous referrals and previous protection cases, the status thereof, and to periodically analyze statistical data and any other information that allows assessment of the effectiveness of service programs.

The central registry shall contain, but shall not be limited to, the following:

  • All information in any written report confirming abuse, institutional abuse, neglect, and abuse by institutional neglect
  • The services provided and accepted
  • The rehabilitation treatment plan
  • The name, date, and other data regarding any person who requests or receives information from the central registry
  • Any other information that may be useful to achieve the purposes of this chapter
