Citation: Ann. Code § 45.2001(a)(1)
The terms 'abuse' or 'child abuse or neglect' include the following acts or omissions:
- When a child is subjected to sexual offenses, including rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, or indecent exposure
- When a child is allowed, permitted, or encouraged to engage in prostitution
- When a child is allowed, permitted, or encouraged to be the subject of obscene or pornographic photographing, filming, or depicting

Definitions of Sex Trafficking of Minors
Citation: Ann. Code § 46.3705
A person commits the crime of promoting prostitution in the first degree if he or she knowingly does the following:
- Promotes prostitution by compelling a person to enter into, engage in, or remain in prostitution
- Promotes prostitution of a person younger than age 16
The term 'compelling' includes the following:
- The use of forcible compulsion
- The use of a drug or intoxicating substance to render a person incapable of controlling his or her conduct or appreciating its nature
- Withholding or threatening to withhold dangerous drugs or a narcotic from a drug-dependent person
