Cross-Reporting Between Child Protective Services and Law Enforcement

Citation: Ann. Code § 45.2010(a)

Reports of known or suspected child abuse or neglect made under this chapter immediately are made to the Department of Public Safety by a written report prepared by those persons required to report, if requested by the receiving agency. The receiving agency forwards a copy of its own report to the central registry on forms supplied by the registry.

If at any time a report of suspected child abuse or neglect is made to the child protection agency, the Department of Public Safety must be notified. If a report of suspected child abuse or neglect is made to the department, the agency must be notified.
