Who May Adopt

Any person who is legally competent and age 18 or older may adopt.

Who May Be Adopted

Citation: Rev. Code § 26.33.140

Any person, regardless of age or residence, may be adopted.

Who May Place a Child for Adoption

Citation: Rev. Code § 26.33.160

Consent for an adoption, if applicable, shall be required of the following:

  • The child's parent or legal guardian
  • The Department of Social and Health Services
  • A child-placing agency
