Immunity for Making Reports
Citation: Ann. Code § 63.2-1512
Any person who makes a report or complaint pursuant to the reporting laws shall be immune from any civil or criminal liability in connection with making the report.
Additional Provisions of Immunity

Any person who takes a child into custody pursuant to law or participates in a judicial proceeding resulting from a report shall be immune from any civil or criminal liability in connection with the action.
Limitations to Immunity

A person will not be provided immunity if it is proven that such person acted in bad faith or with malicious intent.
