Establishment and Maintenance of Central Registries for Child Abuse or Neglect Reports - Oklahoma
Establishment

There is established within the Department of Human Services an information system.
In regulation: The Child Abuse and Neglect Information System, also known as KIDS, is a permanent, computerized record-keeping system maintained by child welfare services that requires the maintenance of all reports of child abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect made pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Children's Code.
Purpose

The information system will be used to maintain all reports of child abuse, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and neglect.
Contents

The records shall contain the following:
- All information in the written report
- A record of the final disposition of the report, including services offered and accepted
- The plan for rehabilitative treatment
- Other relevant information
Maintenance

The Division of Children and Family Services of the Department of Human Services shall be responsible for maintaining a suitably cross-indexed system of all the reports. Records shall be maintained by the department until otherwise provided by law.
