Child welfare agencies often experience barriers to developing and maintaining a competent, committed, and diverse workforce. Although multiple strategies have been developed to address these challenges, isolated interventions often struggle to yield positive results. Implementing an integrated strategy across multiple domains, however, can help agencies achieve the following workforce development goals:
- Reduce turnover
- Build staff capacity
- Enhance leadership skills
- Improve outcomes
- Reduce costs
The podcast 'Workforce Part 1 – The Workforce Development Framework' gives listeners an opportunity to hear about how addressing your workforce can impact these and other challenges facing child welfare agencies. The podcast also focuses on the essential elements and implementation of the Workforce Development Framework, which was developed by the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI). The framework offers an integrated approach to continuously assess, plan, and implement strategies to address workforce gaps and evaluate results.
This podcast is part of Child Welfare Information Gateway’s Workforce podcast series and contains a conversation with the following:
