Jurisdiction

The court of common pleas of each county shall exercise original jurisdiction over voluntary relinquishment, involuntary termination, and adoption proceedings through the appropriate division.
Venue
Citation: Cons. Stat. Tit. 23, § 2302
Proceedings for voluntary relinquishment, involuntary termination, and adoption may be brought in the court of the county in which one of the following applies:
- Where the parent or parents, the adopted person, or the person or persons who have filed a report of intention to adopt reside
- Where an office of an agency that has custody of the adopted person is located, or the agency that placed the adopted person is located
- With leave of court, where the adopted person formerly resided
