The Requirement for Clergy to Report 

Citation: Rev. Stat. § 620.030

Any person who knows or has reasonable cause to believe that a child is neglected or abused shall immediately cause an oral or written report to be made.

Neither the spousal privilege nor any professional-client/patient privilege, except clergy-penitent privilege, shall be grounds for refusing to report or for excluding evidence regarding a neglected or abused child, or the cause thereof, in any judicial proceedings resulting from a report.
