Many families experiencing domestic violence also come to the attention of the child welfare system, and child welfare professionals, domestic violence services advocates, and other community partners are increasingly working together to address the impact of domestic violence on children. This primer provides practitioners with a high-level overview of the complex intersections between domestic violence and child welfare and points to promising practices for casework.
