For Families and Youth
No matter where you may be in the process, you likely have questions about navigating the process or finding help when you need it. The adoption of older youth from foster care also has its own considerations. In this section for families and youth, you can access information and resources that can help whether you are considering adoption, preparing for adoption, or needing support after your adoption has already been finalized.
If your family has not been approved to adopt, you can contact AdoptUSKids Foster Care and Adoption Resource Specialists to ask questions and learn about the needs of children and youth in foster care, the effects of trauma, and the qualities and characteristics needed by families who successfully foster and adopt.
If you only have a few moments, be sure to read the "What Can I Do Now?" tip boxes throughout the site for highlighted tips that you can use immediately.
