The Department of Defense as well as each branch of the military works to provide support for military families and their children. In addition to the national programs providing support for military families, each military installation has a Family Service Center and a Family Advocacy Program. The following resources provide an overview of support services available, including State and local examples.
Department of Defense Educational Activity
Plans, directs, coordinates, and manages the education programs for eligible dependents of U.S. military and civilian personnel.
American Academy of Pediatrics
Offers tips and training for parents on a variety of issues such as safety and injury prevention, mental health, and child development.
U.S. Department of Defense
Provides a directory of military installations both within the United States as well as world-wide contact information for programs including family service centers and family advocacy programs for each installation.
Military Youth on the Move
Helps elementary, middle, and high school youth deal with deployment and moving as well as topics such as divorce, health, and finances.

Provides information and resources regarding services, programs and assistance for service members, spouses, parents and youth.
