Making Things Possible, WA

Three women and a child at a restaurant smiling. It has been almost 7 years since my grandson, Mayzeo, was placed in my care. He was born with spina bifida and has special needs and is in a wheelchair. The Kinship Navigator Program assisted us by remodeling his bathroom from a tub to a roll-in shower, making it possible and easier for him to shower. The program also rebuilt the existing wheelchair ramp and made it safer for him to enter and exit our home.

I could never have been able to afford the remodeling costs as I am on a fixed income. Mayzeo says “I love my new shower instead of a bath. It is so cool to take a shower instead of a bath.” I am thankful to the Kinship Navigator Program for their help in improving Mayzeo’s life.
