The Honorable Gary P. Hartman is acknowledged to be one of the finest juvenile court judges and advocates for children in the State of Wyoming. Actively involved in the Wyoming Court Improvement Project as it affects children, Judge Hartman has worked diligently to standardize shelter care orders that protect the rights of children who have been abused and neglected. Judge Hartman was the first judge in Wyoming to actively engage and incorporate a multidisciplinary team for each child adjudicated abused or neglected. He developed procedures and standards for multidisciplinary teams that have become the recommended standard of the Department of Family Services for the operation of multidisciplinary teams statewide. Judge Hartman continues to work actively with the Wyoming Legislature to strengthen statutes that relate to the protection of children. He acts to protect children, ensuring their safety and well-being through active judicial oversight of cases. The consummate child advocate, Judge Hartman's leadership, commitment, dedication, and love for children have had a profound and long-lasting positive impact on the children and families of Wyoming.
