Range of Postplacement Adoption Services
Postadoption services range from informal meetings or support groups among adoptive families to formal respite care programs or residential programs for adopted children and youth. Availability of and access to postadoption services vary greatly and depend on the types of program, locality of the service, or funding source.
Models of postadoption services include postadoption services provided through statewide adoption resource centers, adoption preservation programs, county-based adoption support and preservation programs, private adoption agency postadoption programs, education and training, parent and adopted person support models, respite program models, and advocacy. In this section find resources on the range of postadoption services.
