Child Welfare Workforce Development and Workplace Enhancement Institute: Knowledge Development and Application

Purpose of conference: Highlight informed strategies for recruiting and retaining a
stable and highly-skilled child welfare workforce.

Description: Consistent with the mission of the Children's Bureau to seek to
provide for safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families through
leadership and productive partnerships, this event was designed to highlight
informed strategies for recruiting and retaining a stable and highly-skilled child
welfare workforce.
Workforce Institute Meeting Report (July 2006)
Captures the ideas and thoughts that were shared during the Institute. Includes key recommendations from synthesis groups—facilitated discussion groups that provided an opportunity for attendees to think critically about workforce-related issues, to discuss possible solutions to workforce challenges, and to make recommendations to the field.
