Curriculum and Other Training Materials

The curriculum and other materials included in this section provide comprehensive training information with specific instructions to a trainer to guide all learning activities as well as content to be trained. Resources are continually updated from the Information Gateway Library.

Training for Caseworkers
General training such as core training, legal processes, casework practice (including assessment and family involvement and engagement), child protective services (including foster and kinship care and permanency planning), and adoption.

Training for Supervisors and Administrators
Includes funding, supervision, personnel, and strategic planning and leadership.

Training for Birth, Foster, Kinship, and Adoptive Parents
Parenting skills and training for foster and adoptive parents.

Training for Other Professionals and Community Members
General trainings include prevention, family support, and mandatory reporting. Trainings for specific professions are designed for advocates, lawyers and judges, public health workers, and teachers.

Specialized Professional Training
Includes training on working with adolescents, developmental disabilities, family group conferencing, fatherhood involvement, sexual abuse, and other topics.


 

Child Welfare Workforce Connection
A service of the Children's Bureau, Child Welfare Workforce Connection is an online forum for discussion, collaboration, the exchange of ideas and resources related to pressing workforce and training issues.
