This requires competency-based preservice and inservice training that is tied to supervision; tailored to worker needs; and includes opportunities for experiential learning, shadowing, and coaching. When workers have the opportunity to build skills and improve their effectiveness, they are more likely to experience job satisfaction and stay committed to their work. This section provides examples of training curricula and materials for new caseworkers in six different areas of child welfare practice.
