Substance Abuse Treatment Services

According to the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (2007), when families or youth are involved in multiple systems—child welfare, alcohol and drug, and dependency court systems—treatment and case plans must include information required to satisfy the goals and mandates of each system. These should be woven into a single, comprehensive statement of services that is clear to families and service providers alike. If unified case plans are not possible, it is especially important that plans be developed in a coordinated manner to give clear and consistent guidance and directions to families. Family members should be actively engaged in creating their plans.

Find information on substance abuse treatment services, including evidence-based practices, family-centered services, services for adults and youth, and services for the prevention of relapse.
