Service Array

Families are aided in raising healthy, happy children when an array of supports and services is available in their community to assist them in meeting basic needs and gaining parenting and life skills. Families with limited resources, or those facing additional challenges, may need specialized services to help ensure positive outcomes.

The ability to provide a comprehensive array of accessible, individualized services to meet the unique needs of children and families is one of the outcomes on which States are evaluated through the Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSRs). States and jurisdictions can find out more about improving their service array using the resources below. The range of services intended to support and assist children, youth, and families, is described in the following sections:

National Child Welfare Resource Center for Organizational Improvement
Offers a process and a set of tools child welfare agencies can use, in conjunction with community collaboratives, to assess and enhance their service array.

Community Services Locator: An Online Directory for Finding Community Services for Children and Families
Maternal and Child Health Library
Helps service providers and families find available national, State, and local resources that can address child and family needs in areas such as education, health, mental health, family support, parenting, child care, and financial support.
