Depression

Many children in out-of-home care or who are in the process of being adopted may experience the effects of depression, resulting from losses they have encountered during their life.

Symptoms may include:

  • Social isolation
  • Frequent crying
  • Hopelessness
  • Sleeplessness

Services that may be beneficial for a child who is dealing with depression include:

  • Individual counseling
  • Medication
