Responding to Domestic Violence

Families in which the child and parent are both being harmed need coordinated assistance from child welfare and domestic violence services to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Find resources addressing how to respond to families affected by domestic violence.

 

National Resource Center on Domestic Violence
Provides support and information through technical assistance, training, and prevention to organizations and individuals working to end violence in the lives of victims and their children.

National Resource Center for Child Protective Services
Assists with system and practice issues in all areas of child protective services that help improve the prevention, reporting, assessment, and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

The Greenbook Initiative
National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges
Provides information on a Federal initiative to help child welfare workers, domestic violence advocates, and family court judges improve their efforts to help battered women and their children achieve safety and well-being.

Domestic violence is a devastating social problem that affects every segment of the population.
