2008 Resource Packet Preorder Information
The following guidelines for preordering Promoting Healthy Families in Your Community: 2008 Resource Packet have been developed to ensure broad national dissemination through federally funded Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) grantees in each State, our National Prevention Partners, and their affiliates/member agencies. Please read the following information regarding the preorder process, then click on the "Continue" button to proceed to the preorder webpage.
THE PREORDER PERIOD IS OVER
What's New in This Year's Packet?
- The 2008 packet is very similar to the 2007 packet, with a slightly different color scheme, updated statistics, and a few other minor changes.
- The packet is intended for service providers and others who work to promote healthy families and prevent child abuse and neglect. It includes five tip sheets in English and Spanish for providers to share with parents.
- New posters will not be ordered this year. Last year's posters are still available and may be ordered separately in quantities up to 50 when the website launches in February 2008.
Quantity Limits for Packets
- The minimum preorder request is 50 packets (1 box), and all preorder requests must be in multiples of 50.
- The maximum number of packets for preorder is 750.
- Once the preorder stock has been depleted, CBCAP grantees, National Partners, and other participating organizations wanting bulk quantities will need to contact Child Welfare Information Gateway Customer Services via phone or email after January 31, 2008 at 1.800.394.3366 or info@childwelfare.gov. Orders through Customer Services will be limited to 100 packets.
- The Prevention section of the Child Welfare Information Gateway website (www.childwelfare.gov/preventing) will be updated in February 2008 to include the 2008 Resource Packet. Single copies of the packet can be downloaded or ordered online at that time.
Shipping Information
- All preorders will be shipped via United Parcel Service (UPS) as soon as printing is completed. This is estimated to be in late January 2008.
- UPS will not deliver packets unless a person is available to accept the boxes. In order to avoid delays in receiving your order, please ensure that someone is available during regular business hours to accept delivery. There will be no advance warning or call from UPS when your shipment is ready to be delivered.
- No bulk orders are allowed to post office (PO) box addresses, as UPS cannot deliver to PO boxes.
- No international or military overseas preorders will be allowed. Information Gateway's Customer Services will begin taking international and military overseas requests when the website launches in February 2008 (www.childwelfare.gov/preventing).
Expectations of Preorder Participants
- Because the 2008 Resource Packets are made available free of charge through funding from the Children's Bureau, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they cannot be sold by any organization—this includes CBCAP grantees, National Prevention Partners, their affiliates, and other participating organizations.
- Information Gateway requests that CBCAP grantees, National Prevention Partners, their affiliates, and other participating organizations provide free shipping for the packets to the extent possible.
