Recruitment efforts are highlighted throughout the National Adoption Month website to encourage America's families to help ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of our children. The theme of National Adoption Month 2005 was "Answering the Call." This theme built on The Collaboration to AdoptUsKids' national recruitment campaign. The Collaboration to AdoptUsKids, a service of the Children's Bureau, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, partnered with the Ad Council to launch a public service campaign on adoption that uses print, radio, television, and Internet public service announcements (PSAs) to encourage prospective parents to realize that they "don't have to be perfect to be a perfect parent." The following resources were made available in September 2005 to assist professionals and families in planning for National Adoption Month in November. |
