WORKLOAD ANALYSIS: FROM MEASUREMENT TO BEST PRACTICE
Resource allocation and workload analysis is an especially important issue in child protection, since assumptions about workload determine staffing decisions, and staffing decisions determine whether social workers are able to strive for "best practice" or merely to "keep their heads above water."
This session will address issues around workload analysis and resource allocation, with emphasis on creating a "best practice" environment. Topics for discussion will include:
- Defining work in relation to workload measurement
- Sampling issues
- Determining best practice standards
- Budget modeling and how workload results become staffing changes
- Changes in policy that affect workload
