THE LINK BETWEEN VIOLENCE TO PEOPLE AND ANIMALS
This session will explore violence in our society and its link to acts of violence against people and animals. Questions for consideration will include: What fosters acts of aggression against our spouses, our children, our companion animals, and other individuals in our environment? How do we, as a society, begin to move away from such violent behavior? How can we teach our children, as well as ourselves, to respect and value others, whether they be other children, relatives, friends, neighbors, or family pets? Leadership for this session comes from the National Resource Center on the Link Between Violence to People and Animals, a joint initiative of the American Humane Association's Children's Services and Animal Protection Services. The Center provides information, resources, and training on the elements and components of violence in our society, with the goal of making the world a better place for both people and animals.
