The Power of Recovery: Impact on Children (Workshop 87)
This session seeks to address the deprecating assumptions made of people in recovery. With this backdrop, the presenter seeks to address a new concept known as the Power of Resiliency, which, like the power of recovery, looks at what children experience, not just as protective factors, but as building blocks for later development. The audience is introduced to the Challenge Model of Resiliency, which goes beyond looking at the damage that is done by abuse and neglect to the strengths.
