Linda Johnson, the Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont for 17 years, has been recognized throughout her tenure as the voice of child abuse prevention in the state. Under her leadership, Prevent Child Abuse Vermont has established and sustained a parent support self-help network. She has been a program innovator, as exemplified by the SAFE-T-2 signature program, a comprehensive sexual abuse primary prevention program established for the middle school. Additionally, the Vermont's Parent Home Companion, now in its 14th year, emerges as Prevent Child Abuse Vermont's most visible as well as a revenue-producing success. This 100 plus page guide proves more than a resource as it provides essential information that is widely used to support parents and organizations in their work. Prevent Child Abuse Vermont also participates in the National Family Support Roundtable. Worthy of note is the fact that Vermont is the only state to experience a significant reduction in child sexual abuse.
