Legal and Court Issues in Permanency

Guidance for achieving permanency for children served by child welfare agencies is provided in Federal and State law and policy. Permanency goals must be approved by the courts, and periodic court hearings review permanency plans for children in foster care to ensure adequate progress is being made toward those goals.

National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ): Child Abuse and Neglect
NCJFCJ works with judges, jurisdictions, and communities nationwide to implement best practices and improve outcomes for the nation's abused and neglected children and their families.
