Child Welfare Information Gateway is not equipped to offer crisis counseling. As a service of the Children's Bureau in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Child Welfare Information Gateway does not have the authority to intervene in or advise in personal situations. If you do not know who to contact regarding your concerns, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services maintains a list of contact information for State, local, tribal, and private organizations that address a range of child, youth, and family issues. ACF can also help you answer specific questions on children and family issues on their Questions and Answers Support Page. Childhelp® is a national organization that provides crisis assistance and other counseling and referral services.
